Description
Bleu Salin is Houbigant’s ode to the movement of the Mediterranean, a marine woody ambered fragrance that captures with rare precision the sensation of a sea breeze on sun-warmed skin. Neither entirely fresh nor entirely warm: perfectly poised at the threshold between the two, where the sea meets the skin and time slows to a standstill.
The opening is vivid and immediate, like the first breath of salt air upon arriving at the water’s edge: Mint Leaves deliver a crisp, lightly crystalline aromatic freshness while Blackcurrant introduces a fruited, lightly vegetal vivacity that animates the accord with an energy that is at once fresh and solar. An opening that evokes the precise instant a sea breeze touches warm skin that simultaneously invigorating and deeply soothing sensation.
At the heart, Bleu Salin fully reveals its singularity. Pittosporum, a Mediterranean flower with creamy, lightly honeyed and subtly green facets, establishes an organic, sun-drenched floral softness entirely free of conventional floral effect. Cascalone, a molecule with marine, grapefruit and lightly iridescent facets, amplifies the sensation of aquatic breeze and light on water. Cashmeran weaves between these notes a velvety, enveloping texture that gives the heart its characteristic depth: the feel of soft skin warmed by hours in the sun.
At the base, the composition finds its warm, structured anchor. Patchouli densifies the sillage with a discreet, modern depth. Cedarwood structures the accord with dry, elegant precision, while Amber radiates a golden, resinous warmth that extends the solar sensuality of the composition long after the first application.
Bleu Salin is the Mediterranean distilled into sensation: airy, luminous, and softly addictive, something one does not seek to analyse, only to return to.
